###The Mimic v1.2 - Changelog
New Features & Mechanics:
- Water Phobia: The Mimic now completely avoids entering water (similar to Endermen). If it touches water, it will instantly despawn with a creepy smoke and ink particle effect accompanied by a sibilant sound.
- Player Head Drop: Defeating the Mimic now has a 10% chance (1 in 10) to drop the player head corresponding to the victim whose skin it stole. ### AI & Behavior Improvements: * Reworked Stalking: Improved the stalking behavior. The Mimic now stays at a distance between 16 and 24 blocks, standing completely still to stare intently at the player, and smoothly retreats if approached too closely.
- Adjusted Speeds: Reduced the fleeing/hiding speed to make its retreats feel more stealthy and unsettling, while keeping its aggressive attack speed fast and dangerous when provoked. ### Performance & Optimizations:
- Multiplayer Optimization: Further refined server-side logic and timed intervals for skin loading to guarantee smooth performance and eliminate lag during online or LAN sessions
Technical:
- Compiled and optimized for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge)..
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
