Bug Fixes & Improvements
Dedicated Server Support:
- Fixed a critical crash that prevented the mod from loading on dedicated servers. The mod now boots cleanly on servers for all supported loaders.
- Fabric servers no longer require Cloth Config to be installed. The client still needs it for the config screen.
Food Relief Fix on Fabric:
- Fixed an issue on the Fabric loader where eating comfort foods (Bread, Mushroom Stew, Rabbit Stew, Beetroot Soup) reduced Fear twice as much as intended (−24 instead of −12), and even reduced Fear when the eating was canceled before finishing. Fear is now reduced exactly once, and only when the food is actually eaten.
Fear Bar Persistence:
- Fixed an issue on Fabric 1.20.1 where the fear bar visibility setting was lost after dying. It now persists through respawning.
Placed Light Sources:
- Standing next to a placed torch, lantern, soul lantern, glowstone, lit redstone lamp, end rod or lit campfire now completely stops Fear from rising. Fear will only climb again once the light is gone — and beware: at high Fear levels, the mod may break nearby torches on its own.
- Holding a torch or lantern in your hand still slows down Fear gain, but no longer stops it completely. Placing your light source is now the only fully safe option.
Localized Whispers:
- The whispers that temporarily haunt items in your inventory now follow the game's language instead of always showing in Spanish. English players will now see "Can you see me?", "Behind you" and "You are not alone".
Spectator Mode:
- Players in spectator mode no longer accumulate Fear.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
