Changes
Genetics & Breeding
- Added a full Punnett-square genetic trait system for Sheep, Cows, Pigs, Chickens, and Wolves — each animal carries two hidden alleles, with the visible trait determined by dominance weight
- Added hand-painted trait skins for all five species (4 Sheep, 8 Chicken, 8 Cow, 6 Pig, and 16 Wolf traits, plus "Default" for each)
- Wild spawn groups now share a single trait across the whole group, just like a real herd or flock
- Every trait's dominance weight is configurable
Climate-Based Spawning
- Wild trait selection is now gated by the real biome temperature at the spawn location (Cold / Temperate / Hot)
- Breeding is unaffected by climate — offspring can inherit any parental trait regardless of the biome they're born in
- Climate thresholds and every trait's allowed climate(s) are configurable
Crowding
- Pigs, Cows, Sheep, and Chickens packed too tightly together (all four species counted together) now take periodic damage with brown particle effects
- Crowd radius, threshold, damage amount, and damage interval are configurable
Panic Spreading
- Attacking a Pig, Cow, Sheep, or Chicken now causes nearby animals of the same four species to flee too, not just the one hit
- Panic radius, flee speed, and flee distance are configurable
Shelter-Seeking
- Pigs, Cows, Sheep, and Chickens now seek nearby cover (trees, overhangs, roofs) when it's raining or snowing on them
- Search radius, check interval, and travel speed are configurable
- Works against vanilla weather; mods with their own localized weather systems (e.g. Simple Clouds) aren't currently supported
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
