Torterra Tree Cosmetics
Converts Torterra's previously locked tree variants into a freely swappable cosmetic system powered by Cobblemon's native cosmetic item framework.
What This Does
By default, Torterra's tree variants were determined permanently at evolution by holding a specific sapling as Grotle. This pack removes that restriction entirely. Grotle now evolves into a standard Torterra, and players can freely equip any sapling in Torterra's cosmetic slot to change the tree on its back at any time.
Supported Tree Variants
| Sapling | Cosmetic Item |
|---|---|
| Oak | Oak Sapling |
| Spruce | Spruce Sapling |
| Birch | Birch Sapling |
| Jungle | Jungle Sapling |
| Acacia | Acacia Sapling |
| Dark Oak | Dark Oak Sapling |
| Mangrove | Mangrove Propagule |
| Cherry | Cherry Sapling |
| Azalea | Azalea |
| Swamp | Blue Orchid |
Requirements
- Cobblemon (1.21.1)
- Both a datapack and resource pack are required — both are included in the files

Notes
-
Existing Torterra that evolved using the old sapling system will need their tree aspect cleared before the cosmetic slot takes effect. Use any form of pokemon editing to remove the old aspect if needed.
-
The swamp variant uses a Blue Orchid as its trigger item since the original biome condition cannot be replicated in the cosmetic system.
