Changes
2.0.2
Ported to Minecraft 26.1 and 26.2. NeoForge and Fabric builds added alongside Forge.
Behavior
- Wood types come from the
minecraft:logsandminecraft:leavestags. Mangrove, cherry, pale oak, nether stems and modded trees with correct tags are handled without a code change - Felling triggers only with an item from the
minecraft:axestag. Sneaking suppresses it and gives plain vanilla breaking of a single block - The axe loses one durability point per extra block removed. A broken axe stops the felling
- Drops are rolled from loot tables with the tool taken into account, including Fortune and Silk Touch, and are merged into stacks before being dropped
Fixed
- Traversal rewritten from recursive to iterative. Stack overflow on touching canopies is no longer possible
- Added an upper bound on blocks removed per break, 512 by default
- Traversal no longer reads past the edge of loaded chunks
- The block broken by the player is no longer removed twice
Configuration
config/treechopper-common.toml
enabled- turns the mod on and off, true by defaultmaxBlocks- upper bound on blocks removed per break, range 1..8192, 512 by default
Limitations
- Trees whose canopies touch are felled together. This is how the mod works, not a defect
- Fabric has no config screen. Values are edited in the file
- The Fabric block break event has no listener priorities. A claim protection mod registering after this one is bypassed
Requirements
Java 25. Fabric builds require Fabric API.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
