The concept of Goo Blocks, first came to life by a mod developer called Eloraam. Eloraam was one of the biggest contributters to FML (Fancy Mod Loader) and the main person responsible of every Mod Loader existing today! Eloraam's Gray Goo, was a block that would replace any block (other than air) beside itself to become another Gray Goo, effectively destroying any player's world!
From Eloraam's Gray Goo forward, many developers implemented their own versions of Goo blocks. Almost all of them, do the same thing with a little bit of twist here and there: "They Destroy Your World!"
This mod is different.
- Did you ever played with a tech mod that had query? The problem with those query mods are: a) they are slow, b) they need energy, c) they produce lots of junk (Dirt, stone, etc).
- Did you ever tried to fill a pool space with water or lava? how time consuming was it?
- Do you want a water/lava pump that will not force you to produce energy by a tech mod?
- How about straight digging down to bedrock level?
- What about digging a 3 by 3 tunnel for mining resources?
- Wait, how about creating a nice looking bridge to finally move freely above lava in nether?
Yes. You get all of these by this Goo mod!
Here are the list and functionallity of the Goos in this mod:
Be careful.
Lava eating, Lava Generating, Water eating and Water generating can potentially destroy your world if they are not used in a contained space. They can move for infinit distance. Please use them in a contained space!
Bridge Goo
The bridge goo will generate a nice, closed wall, safe tunnel to walk inside it. The floor of the bridge is at the same level that you put the goo block. The direction of the bridge is the direction you look into when you are placing the block. You need to activate the block using a flint and steel. After activation, the goo will place many temporary Goos in the bridge space (distance is configurable by Game Rules). Some of these temporary goos will destroy the block and replace it with air (walking tunnel). Some of them will be replaced with smooth stone, producing the floor, ceiling and walls.Chunk Goo
You need to activate the chunk goo with a flint and steel. After activation, it will cover the chunk surface at the same level of itself with chunk eating goos. These chunk eating goos will move downward until bedrock (or dimension's lowest level) destroying blocks and leaving no junk behind themselves. Thankfully, these blocks will not destroy valuable resources. Think of this goo as a magical, fast, clean query! The best part is that when the goo block encounters a block outside of the chunk that is air, water, or lava, it will replace it with smooth stone. This will create a nice wall all oround the chunk. Remember, sometimes new water source blocks will be created as the result. You can clean them yourself or you can use a water eating goo!Lava Eating Goo
When activated using flint and steel, the block will look all around itself (blocks adjacent to itself). If it finds any still lava block, it will replace the lava block with a copy of itself and at the end, it will destroy itself leaving nothing behing. This will effectively clean the lava pool.Lava Generating Goo
When activated using flint and steel, the block will look all around itself (blocks adjacent to itself but not the top one). If it finds any air block, it will replace it with a copy of itself. Finally it will destroy itself leaving a source lava block behind itself.Lava Pump Goo
Put the pump near any lava source, put any type of fluid container (a block that can accept lava, like a tank, or a machine with internal space for lava fluid) on top of it. You don't need power or any conduit. The pump will look around itself in a predefined direction and depth (configurable with Game Rules) and if it finds a lava source, it will remove it and put a bucket worth of lava inside the container!Towering Goo
After activation with a flint and steel, it will dig straight down until bedrock (or lower level of the dimension). If at any level, it finds air, water or lava around itself (sides), it will replace them with a smooth stone. This will create a fast downward tunnel to get access to bedrock level. Don't worry, it will not break any valuable resource but be careful, if there is a valuable resource in the tunnel, if you break it, there will be a huge down fall that will cause death!Tunneling Goo
After activation with flint and steel, it will replace a 3 by 3 area one level above itself with temporary goo blocks. One after another, these temporary goo blocks will destroy themselves leaving nothing behind. The final result is a 3 by 3 tunnel. Don't worry, the valuable resources inside the tunnel will be untouched. The direction of the tunnel will be the same direction of the player when putting down the goo. Also, the distance of the tunnel is configurable with Game Rule.Water Eating Goo
It's like the lava eating goo, but instead of lava, works specifically on water.Water Generatig Goo
It's like lava generating goo but instead of lava, it generates water.Water Pump Goo
Works like lava pump goo but instead of lava, it will pump water.Game Rules
