UltraDialogue 1.0 — first public release
Real dialogue screens for NPCs, using Minecraft's native dialogs: a portrait, the character's text, and the player's answers as buttons. No resource pack, no client mod.
Conversations
- One YAML file per character: nodes, answers, and where each answer leads.
startrules pick the first node — so a character can greet newcomers differently.- A node with no answers shows a Continue button (or Goodbye if it's the last one).
Actions
goto, dialogue, menu, command, console, message, broadcast, actionbar, title,
sound, flag, unflag, close.
Conditions
Hide answers or change where a talk starts by permission, player flag, or any PlaceholderAPI value
(==, !=, >=, <=, >, <, contains).
Integrations (all optional)
- FancyNpcs: clicking a linked NPC opens its dialogue instead of its actions.
- Any entity with the tag
dialogue:<id>. - PlaceholderAPI in text, actions and conditions.
- ViaVersion: clients older than 1.21.6 get the conversation in chat.
Also
- Portraits: NPC skin, player skin, texture or item, with fallbacks.
- Every reference is validated on load and reported with file and node.
- English and Spanish.
Requires Paper 26.1.2+ and Java 25.
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
