🔧 Improvements & Fixes
-
Major land-route navigation rework
- Caravans now follow surveyed X/Y/Z elevation, improving navigation through tunnels, bridges, underpasses, stairs, and elevated player-built routes.
- Trade income and Guild rewards still use horizontal route distance.
- Existing legacy routes and ferry travel remain compatible.
-
Added explicit Peaceful Mode alternatives for combat-dependent stories, Pilgrim work, and caravan encounters.
- Difficulty changes now reset only incompatible active objective progress, not completed chapters.
-
Improved Night Bells
- The threatened Story Village now remains consistent across difficulty changes and shared party progression.
-
Hardened:
- Caravan incidents
- Owner-only event completion
- Route Map actions
- Route world/dimension handling
- Wayshrine identity across dimensions
-
Improved support for large and modded villages without force-loading distant chunks.
-
Guild invitations now expire after 7 days, including safe migration for existing invitations.
💾 Compatibility
Existing 2.3.1 saves, village history, earned rewards, routes, and progression remain compatible with 2.4.0.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
