You can build them a bell.

A crafting recipe for the bell
-
Minecraft has never had one. A bell can only be found in a village that generated with it, so a village you built yourself has no way to get one — and the bell is not decoration. It is the meeting point villagers gather at, and gathering is how they pass opinions to one another. Every reputation, rumour and price this mod shows you is read from that gossip, so a bell-less village runs the whole thing at a fraction of strength with nothing on screen to say why.
-
Six stone, one stick and a gold block, arranged as a bell with an open mouth:
stone stick stone stone gold stone stone stone -
Nine gold ingots is deliberate. The bell is the centre of a working village, and it should cost like it.
-
Appears in the recipe book as soon as you have gold or stone, so you find out it exists at the point it becomes useful.
Notes
- No protocol change; 0.10.0 talks to 0.9.0 clients and servers.
- Requires Minecraft 26.2 and NeoForge 26.2.0.48-beta, as before.
- The recipe is a datapack inside the mod jar, so a datapack of your own can override or disable it in the usual way.
- Nothing about existing bells changes, and no other vanilla recipe is touched.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
