Changes
Teach a villager their trade.
Added
The diamond apple
- A new item: eight diamonds around a golden apple.
- Offer one to a villager in conversation — the same "Offer what you're holding" you already use for gifts — and they gain a trade level. New stock, better prices, one step nearer mastering their craft. Four apples take someone from Novice to Master.
- Offer one to a nitwit and they stop being a nitwit. They become an ordinary unemployed villager, free to claim a workstation and take up a trade like anyone else — something vanilla never allows. Have a job site ready; they will go looking.
- They will only accept one from someone who already trusts you. Anyone else hands it back and says why, rather than quietly eating your diamonds. The same goes for a villager who has already mastered their trade, or has no trade to better yet — three different refusals, each said out loud.
- A villager who accepts one tells you what changed, rather than a number in the corner quietly ticking over.
- It is also edible, worth twice a golden apple: 8 hunger, Regeneration II for ten seconds and Absorption for four minutes.
Notes
- No protocol change; 0.11.0 talks to 0.10.0 clients and servers.
- Requires Minecraft 26.2 and NeoForge 26.2.0.48-beta, as before.
- The recipe is a datapack inside the mod jar, so your own datapack can override or disable it.
- Existing worlds need nothing.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
