Changes
Initial Alpha release of Vision Goggles for Minecraft 1.20.1. This version establishes the core framework for advanced vision systems and multi-platform compatibility.
New Features
- Night Vision Goggles: Implemented high-clarity Night Vision using custom post-processing shaders.
- Thermal Vision Goggles: Added heat-signature tracking to highlight living entities through walls and foliage.
- Battery System: Integrated a power management mechanic. Goggles now require NVG Batteries to function.
- Dynamic HUD: Added a non-intrusive overlay to track battery percentage and active vision modes in real-time.
- Crafting Recipes: Added recipes for both types of goggles and their respective batteries.
Platform & Compatibility
- Architectury Integration: Full support for both Fabric and Forge modloaders from a single codebase.
- Accessory Support:
- Forge: Integrated with Curios API (Eyes slot).
- Fabric: Integrated with Accessories API (Face and Eyes slots).
- Rendering Fixes: Added a technical fallback patch to prevent "NoClassDefFoundError" crashes in Fabric environments where Sodium is not present.
- Mod Menu & Cloth Config: Fully integrated configuration screen for real-time setting adjustments.
Localization
- Added full translation support for 7 languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Polish, and Portuguese.
Technical Notes
- Shader Optimization: Vision effects are handled via JSON shaders to ensure minimal impact on CPU and GPU performance.
- Configurable Settings: Players and server owners can now adjust battery drain rates and add custom battery items via the vision_goggles-common.json configuration file.
Optional dependencies
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
