Added
- Distant Horizons' far terrain now casts into the pack's shadow map. A pack that ships a
dh_shadowprogram has it drawn, from the light, over the same distant land itsdh_terraindraws for the camera, so a far hill lays a shadow on the ground instead of only shading itself out of its own depth. Packs that writedhShadow.enabled=falseare taken at their word, which is most of them; the one pack tried here that ships the program keeps it behind a setting of its own and it has to be switched on. It also follows the two words that govern the near world in the map, so a pack that keeps the world out of its own shadow map keeps the distant land out with it. What the map holds is the distant land the camera can see, which is narrower than under Iris: that mod gets a second list of it, built for the light, and there is no second list to be had here.
Changed
- Two things taken on every frame are no longer taken for a pack that cannot read them. The
copy the shadow map is read from as
shadowtex1is sixty-four mebibytes a frame at a shadow map of 4096, and the depth kept from before the hand is a full screen image and a draw on every frame the hand is drawn. Each is now skipped where no file of the pack writes the name that reads it, which the log says out loud when it happens. Of the eight packs tried here, one skips the shadow copy and five skip the depth.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
