Changes
New
- Gorilla Tag mode is now the default movement. It was rewritten to work like Gorilla Tag's own player code: your body is moved by your hands. Your old config switches to Gorilla Tag once when you update; all your other settings are kept, and switching back to Speed Swing sticks.
- Climb and ride mobs in Gorilla Tag mode. Grab or stand on any mob. You move and turn with it, and riding never flings you. Settings: "climb on mobs", "turn with mob".
- Hoverboard item with a 3D model. Tilt your controller to steer.
- Hovers from the magnet pads under the board, rises over 1-block steps while keeping your speed, and rides walls when you're going fast.
- Hover height goes up to 4 blocks in singleplayer / with op (0.5 on servers).
- Works in both Speed Swing and Gorilla Tag mode.
- Free 3D cosmetics: Pink Hat and Shoulder Cat. Pick them on the new Cosmetics page of the config screen. Other mod users see them too, through the server (dedicated servers need the MonkeServer companion).
- Locomotion modes: Speed Swing, Gorilla Tag and Charge Jump (experimental). Cycle with a keybind (unbound by default) or /vmc set locomotionMode.
- Mod on/off toggle that is saved between sessions.
- Fall options: survive a fatal fall at 1 HP, or turn fall damage off.
- Join message in chat with links to the Fabric issue tracker.
Changed
- Config screen reorganised: Presets > Speed Swing > Gorilla Tag > Body > ... Each mode has its own on/off switch at the top of its tab; turning one on turns the others off. Charge Jump moved to Experimental.
- Speed Swing now uses the same per-server setting caps as the other modes.
- Default hand size 0.12 -> 0.10.
- Removed old unused settings (GT physics, GT drag gain, step teleport, camera stabilisation). Old configs migrate automatically.
Fixed
- Hoverboard: going over a ledge no longer counts as hitting a wall, so it no longer eats your speed and shoves you back.
- You can drown again (the smaller hitbox kept your eyes out of the water).
- Vivecraft mining no longer breaks the block above the one you hit.
- Startup crash when Cloth Config isn't installed.
- Open-to-LAN guests no longer take fall damage while wall-sliding, and get hot-hands damage on magma like on a dedicated server.
- Losing controller tracking mid-grab no longer leaves gravity switched off.
- Hoverboard shows the right way round on the inventory doll and to other players.
- /vmc set can change punch mining again; config rejects NaN/Infinity values.
- Debug log is size-capped (rotates at 20 MB, stops at 50 MB per session).
- Memory leak after leaving a world.
Server companion (MonkeServer)
- Relays cosmetics between players and registers the Hoverboard item, so both work on dedicated servers. Up to date with this client on every version. (1.21.4 is 1.0.0.1, the rest are 1.0.0.0.)
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
