π©οΈ WeatherPhysics v0.0.4 β Landspouts & Weather Radar Update
Version 0.0.4 introduces dynamic landspouts with full entity suction physics, fair-weather waterspouts, a fully interactive real-time Weather Radar, progressive rain intensity, and major performance optimizations.
πͺοΈ Landspouts & Waterspouts
- πͺοΈ Dynamic Landspouts: Added independent ground-level vortices featuring variable width and dynamic structural deformation.
- π Waterspout Transformation: Landspouts seamlessly transition into fair-weather waterspouts when moving over water, changing their visual behavior and marine interactions.
- 𧲠Suction Physics: Real suction forces generated from the ground, pulling nearby players and mobs into the vortex core.
- β‘ Multi-Vortex Events: Mature Cumulonimbus clouds now have a rare chance to deploy up to 2 landspouts simultaneously.
- πΏ Terrain Interaction: Landspouts interact directly with ground blocks, stripping/scraping grass blocks along their paths.
π‘ Interactive Weather Radar
- π΄ Real-Time Tracking: Dynamic player icon displaying your exact location on the radar in real time.
- π Interactive Zoom: Fully scrollable map zoom using the mouse wheel.
- πΊοΈ Auto-Panning HUD: Smooth UI auto-scrolling when traveling outside the currently rendered map boundaries.
Controls:
- β¨οΈ Toggle Radar: Press
R(default keybind, rebindable in Controls) to open/close the interactive weather radar HUD. - π Map Zoom: Use the Mouse Scroll Wheel to zoom in/out while the radar is open.
π§οΈ Rain, Hail & Visual Overhauls
- π§οΈ Progressive Rain System: Rain intensity now scales dynamically based on the cloud's current maturity stage.
- π§ Variable Hail Intensity: Adjusted hail spawning algorithms to support continuous, dense hail during severe storms.
- β¨ Polished Rain Curtains: Visual overhaul of rain curtains, eliminating graphic glitches when rendering under clouds.
π§ Fixes & Optimization
- π Server-Client Sync: Complete packet flow redesign to eliminate lag and desync for clouds and landspouts.
- π§Ή Memory Management: Auto-cleanup system for expired landspouts to optimize server performance.
- π Suction Height Fix: Fixed an issue where landspout suction only affected entities at high altitudes.
- π§ Vanilla Weather Override: Permanently blocked Minecraft's base rain engine from triggering unexpectedly.
π Note: Ambient wind sound effects are currently in development and will arrive in a future update. Supercell tornadoes of greater scale are also planned!
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
