Changes
The wild has noticed you. First release of Wildbound — a vanilla+ Fabric mod that lets you tame passive mobs that have never been tameable before.
Highlights
- Eleven companions — bat, rabbit, frog, bee, panda, armadillo, axolotl, turtle, ocelot, fox, and sheep — each granting a gentle passive while it follows or sits nearby: low-tier effects like Night Vision and Haste, plus three special gifts (ocelot XP ×2, fox item fetch, and a rideable sheep with a charged jump).
- One taming item — every bond starts with an amethyst shard (1-in-3 chance; configurable).
- Three modes + quiet — follow (trailing buff), sit (parked buff), wander (off duty); a milk bucket quiets a passive that's in your way.
- Companion capture — fold a companion into an amethyst cluster to carry or store it safely past unloaded chunks; right-click a surface to release.
- Advancement tree — from first shard to taming one of every kind (The Wild Knows Your Name).
- Per-mob config — enable/disable each animal, taming odds, effect level, wander radius.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.1.2 · Fabric Loader 0.19.3+ · Fabric API · Java 25+
- Install on the server and the client — only riding the sheep needs the client side; everything else works for vanilla clients.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
