Changes
[0.5.0] — 2026-10-18
Added
- Added an in-world chunk overlay showing queued captures, chunks captured in the current session, and previously saved chunks. Source worlds and mirror worlds have independent visibility settings; K toggles the setting for the current world type. Thanks to @cev-api for the original PR #14.
Changed
- Prepared lightweight overlay state before drawing, reused the map's indexed snapshots and bounded bucket sizing, and merged adjacent same-colour tiles. The default overlay radius is 128 chunks; larger views use coarse tiles.
- Fixed degenerate faces in the chunk-box geometry and prevented distant outlines from fading to the sky's fog colour. Kept the PR's Gradle cache-path change separate from this release.
- Restored visible grid lines in both directions, with a switch for same-status interior boundaries, and reduced the default fill and outline opacity to 60% of its previous strength. Removed translucent internal side faces that left one-directional stripes even when the grid was hidden.
- Kept the optional Xaero bridge off the development client's runtime classpath, so World Mirror can launch without Xaero's World Map installed.
- Kept the custom Cloth Config select for enums. Boolean and short bounded integer fields can opt into it explicitly; current fields use their default controls. The 8–16384 chunk overlay radius uses a bounded text field for exact values.
- Stopped in-world overlay extraction when it is hidden, including under F1 by default. A separate setting can keep it visible under F1.
Fixed
- Added opt-in development Xaero bridge runtime dependencies with
-PxaeroIntegration=true, while keeping startup without Xaero supported. - Render the in-world overlay after water, clouds, and transparency composition on the classic path, with the grid drawn after the fill. Minecraft 26.3 retains native improved-transparency rendering.
- Keep chunk boxes while blending only their camera-facing shell, avoiding doubled opacity from front and back faces.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
