ZombieRool 26.7 Beta 4
Minecraft 1.20.1 | Forge | Java 17
A melee combat overhaul, doubled ammo reserves, more reliable hordes, and fixes for world loading and the map catalogue.
Melee combat overhaul
- New attack animations in first and third person, with improved hand placement, including left-handed play.
- Chain light attacks into three-hit combos, with a stronger finishing strike.
- Hold Use to prepare a heavy attack, then release after the visual and sound cue.
- Melee hits push ordinary enemies back without launching them into the air.
- Swings hit enemies in front of you and respect walls. Successful crowd hits consume durability per swing rather than per enemy; misses consume none.
- Increased Old Sword and Energy Sword damage and durability.
Combat and enemies
- Doubled total finite ammo reserves for native weapons and TaCZ weapons managed by ZombieRool. Magazine sizes stay the same.
- Fixed cases where zombies stopped chasing players after electric stuns or bullet impacts.
- Improved horde navigation and enemy patrols, including enemies stopping just outside melee range.
- Wunderwaffe chains ignore lingering corpses when selecting their first target. Reduced the rendering cost of overlapping lightning effects.
- Abomination hooks pull players more reliably across uneven ground.
- Fixed custom boss health being capped below the map's configured value.
Fixes and multiplayer
- Fixed worlds getting stuck at 100% while loading armor stations.
- Fixed missing map catalogue thumbnails when creators uploaded larger screenshots.
- Fixed the red injury overlay hiding objective text or covering too much of the view.
- Objective bars return correctly after reconnecting.
- Fixed a source of client/server registry mismatches despite matching displayed mod versions.
- Improved custom armor station visuals and fixed crashes when refreshing custom enemy models.
Main menu
- Added an alternate main menu featuring Destroyed Earth and a different soundtrack, randomly selected at game launch.
- The destroyed planet has a detailed scorched surface, glowing magma, smoke, and a wider field of smaller orbiting rocks.
Map creation tools
- Texture Kit supports animated PNG sprite sheets with matching .png.mcmeta files, including multiplayer synchronization.
- Fixed dragging PNG files into Texture Kit from Windows Explorer in local worlds. Animation metadata stays with its texture.
- Added custom flowing water, item textures, and adjustable opacity. Custom water works with waterloggable blocks, and its underwater colors match the texture.
- Added Sun and Destroyed Earth sky objects, plus Keep Minecraft sky to use sky objects over the vanilla sky.
- Improved the reliability of custom objectives, placed components, and match resets.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
