π§ββοΈ ZombieRool - Major Update: The Arsenal & The Workshop
This massive update pushes the boundaries of ZombieRool! On the agenda: a total weapon overhaul, a brand new gore system, comprehensive player progression, and revolutionary tools (Lua Scripting, Data-driven) to give map makers absolute control.
π« Arsenal, Combat & Animations
- TacZ Integration: Full compatibility with the Timeless and Classics Zero mod for an exceptional gunplay feel.
- New Weapons: The arsenal expands with the arrival of the Peacekeeper, Haymaker, M1 Carbine, SVT-40, HK21, and HK G3.
- Lethal Equipment: Grenades are finally here! Use Frag Grenades, Molotovs, Stielhandgranates, and the iconic Monkey Bomb to get out of critical situations.
- Weapon Limit & Mule Kick: Players are now limited to 2 weapons by default. The brand new Mule Kick perk makes its debut, allowing you to carry a 3rd weapon.
- New Animations: First and third-person animation overhaul: knife swipe (cut sweep), perk drinking, and new animations for cooking and throwing grenades.
- Dynamic Crosshair: New dynamic crosshair that reacts to shooting and movement.
- Pack-a-Punch Effects: New unique abilities and effects for a handful of weapons when upgraded.
π©Έ Gameplay & Zombies
- Complete Gore System: Combat is more visceral than ever. Dismember zombies and pop their heads with precision shots!
- Dynamic Crawlers: Zombies hit by an explosion (without dying) now have a chance to lose their legs and become crawlers.
- Crawler Overhaul (Nova 6): The Crawler enemy has been reworked. Upon death, it now explodes, releasing a toxic gas cloud.
- Prone & Crawl: You can now go completely prone and crawl to pass through narrow spaces.
- Musical Meteorites: A classic! Find and interact with hidden meteorites around the map to trigger a secret easter egg song.
π Career, Progression & Customization
- Camo System: Unlock weapon camos through a comprehensive progression system, in-game challenges, and Prestiges!
- Career Menu: Redesigned interface to track your stats, challenges, and equip your camos.
π οΈ Map Maker's Paradise (Creator Tools)
- Lua Scripting Engine: Create complex Easter Eggs, quests, and unique events directly using Lua scripts.
- 100% Data-Driven: Weapons, drops/power-ups, and perks are now fully customizable via JSON files. Create your own weapons from scratch!
- Dynamic Resources: You can now drag and drop your assets (textures, music, sounds) directly into your world save folder. They will automatically sync for clients joining the server!
- In-Game Config Menu: A brand new GUI menu to configure map settings in real-time (Fog, Mobs, Rules, etc.).
- Secret Console: A hidden command prompt dedicated to developers and creators to debug and test features.
- Dynamic Chalk System: Using the new "Chalk" item, you can pull directly from your dynamic assets to draw/place any custom texture on walls (perfect for wallbuys, arrows, or hidden messages).
- Spawner Overhaul: Spawn blocks now feature advanced parameters (zones, conditions, spawn weights).
𧱠New Blocks & 3D Models
- 3D Visual Overhaul: The Mystery Box, Pack-a-Punch, and Power Switch have received completely remade and animated 3D models.
- Blind Buy Cabinet: A new block! Setup a hidden weapon inside that players can buy without knowing what it is until they open it.
- New Blocks: Several new decorative blocks added to give more atmosphere to your creations.
π» UI, Menus & QoL (Quality of Life)
- Community Maps: In-game integration to download and play maps created by the community directly from the menu.
- ZombieRool UI: Complete graphical overhaul of the mod's main interface and map menus.
- "Disposable" Map Copies: Overhauled the "Copy Map" button. You can now launch a copy of a map to playtest it, and this copy will automatically delete itself when you leave, keeping the original intact!
- Localization: The mod is now fully supported in 6 languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese-Brazil, Russian).
- Bug Fixes: Numerous minor bug fixes, network optimization, and overall stability improvements.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
