Cozy Visuals isn't just another visual modpack that turns Minecraft into something flashy, cartoony, or unrecognizable.
Most modpacks that focus on visuals either lean heavily into action-packed gameplay or change Minecraft's appearance so much that it barely feels like the same game anymore. Cozy Visuals takes a different approach.
Every feature is carefully chosen to improve the game's atmosphere and visual experience, without adding unnecessary effects or straying too far from what makes Minecraft Minecraft.
The idea is simple: make Minecraft look and feel better, not turn it into a different game. It should still feel like the Minecraft we know and love, just a little more fresh, polished, and satisfying to play.
⛏️ This pack adds:
Animations Overhaul
- Smoother, springier animations for the player, mobs, and first-person interactions.
- Dynamic cinematic camera shifts to a third person death view when you die.
- UI animations with smooth item swapping, scrolling, and hovering.
- And countless other small visual details.
Cozier Visuals
- Improved clouds, richer skies, biome-specific fog, particles... Lots of particles.
- Glowing enchantment outlines with subtle bloom effects on enchanted items.
- Lens flare, god rays, volumetric fog, birds, butterflies, fireflies, and more.
Enhanced Audio
- Gentler weather ambience, satisfying inventory and hotbar sounds, footsteps and more.
Improved Particles & Environment
- Soft footstep imprints, realistic boat wakes across water bodies, and custom item particles.
- Particles for stripping logs, flattening paths, running, punching certain mobs, enhanced rain, desert sandstorms, falling leaves, throwable object trails, dropped items, and I can keep going :).
Refreshed Menu & UIs
- A brand-new panorama and title screen with smoother button hovering, a fresher cursor, and a stone-like clicking sound.
- Fresher advancements, pop-ups, and an overhauled advancements menu that turns your screen into a zoomable 'spiderweb' layout displaying all connecting achievements.
QoL Features
- Built-in Zoom Button to quickly get a closer look at distant landforms or details.
- Favourite your worlds so they stay at the top of your list (disables the 'Delete' button until unfavourited).
- Highlights newly picked-up items with subtle tiny pickup animations, alongside small icons for hard-to-distinguish items (like Waxed Copper, Infested Blocks, and Trapped Chests).
...And much more!
🗒️ Notes
Cozy Visuals has its own atmosphere, and shaders can interfere with it. For the intended experience, I recommend playing without them.
I'm no optimization expert, but I've done my best to make sure the modpack maintains a playable and stable FPS.
For the intended visual experience, I highly recommend keeping the video settings that affect the game's visuals at their default values. This includes options like Particles, Clouds, Leaves, Biome Blend, and more.
🐞 Current Bugs
Will be fixed
Breaking blocks - When blocks are broken, particles spawn inside them, causing them to turn black for a split second.
Mixed music - When music is enabled, the game's soundtrack gets mixed with another one. This only happens with music, though.
Won't get fixed
Panorama cut-off - There is a strange cut in the main menu panorama because it is made up of in-game screenshots.
Misaligned bloom - Certain items, such as enchanted gear, will have a light bloom effect. A small number of these items will have the bloom effect positioned incorrectly.
