RotN is a modpack. EotD is also a modpack.
Known issues:
- iron shield is busted, use literally any other type of shield and ur good. not really sure how to fix this atm
- everyone gets teleported when you walk through that specific door in that specific dimension. im working on this
- this modpack kinda assumes that you know about the grass > plant fiber thing and you also know how to use JEI. i gotta add to patchouli or do quests or something for the noobs that havent played rotn or terrafirmacraft or whatever
"I can understand the feeling overall of wanting to spread the word about your cool project. I also understand not outright saying "hey everyone, please play my pack" because that would get you warnings for spam, so this is a more subtle way to do the same with actual content, trying to mask the ad. I genuinely believe that's not a bad thing, you gotta get the word out there somehow, but I really think that you are going about it the wrong way, by dishing RotN, shitposting, and telling not showing. If you are serious about it, show some effort (I don't care about whether you are making an effort or not, you gotta show it). And when you have something you are proud of, share it on Reddit, on media that fits the thing. Don't just say "play this!" but rather try things like "I added [unique mechanic] to my pack," something to get people interested." - Foreck, Modpack dev for Rebirth of the Night

Death should not punish the player by removing their combat abilities or mobility options; Especially in a modpack that is designed to kill you. In EotD, there exists a list of items which are assigned a "natural soulbound" tag from YIGD. These items will always stay in your inventory after death with no penalty to item durability. The list includes all armor, weapons, pickaxes, shields, shovels, and trinkets. Also, backpacks are not included because that's cheesy (not up for debate). The full list can be found in natural_soulbound.json which is located in the "eotd bruh pack" datapack. I have a python script which sorts the contents of "/ct dump items" to create an array for use in natural_soulbound.json. I will put this on my github at one point maybe.

Beds are now decorational blocks. Respawn Obelisks are used to set your spawnpoint, and sleeping is no longer possible.

You can have multiple active graves (via YIGD). If you die twice, the older grave won't break. "Yes, I am giddy with joy when the Cave Troll camps my grave and kills me repeatedly, causing my old graves to break and dropping all my items on the ground" - statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged

Although I do think that RotN's cave gen is excellent gameplay-wise, the caves are aesthetically lacking (in an otherwise asthetically goated modpack) and devoid of personality. Vanilla minecraft suffers from the same problem. The Cavernous data pack tackles this problem masterfully. I highly recommend exploring its content blind.

[18:37:20] [Render thread/WARN]: Game took 20.9 seconds to start
So basically
this is a half serious modpack that you will probably enjoy if you like rotn and other survival-oriented modpacks. I originally wanted it to be a more performant rotn spin-off; kinda like rotn-origami, but more like a real thing instead of a concept
we did not get spin-off status but that doesn't matter. even though the pack is in very early alpha, ive reached a point where i'm actually happy with the gameplay. in my opinion this is way better than rotn endorsement or whatever (that modpack sucks anyway)
