Mac Native

Changelog - v0.9.0

Visual Experience

• Shader support: Added Beryl, introducing an optional Vulkan-based shader pipeline while keeping performance and smooth gameplay at the core of Mac Native.
• Entity animations: Added Fresh Animations for more expressive and natural mob animations while preserving Minecraft's familiar visual style.
• Player animations: Added Fresh Player Animations to improve player movement and make third-person animations feel more polished.
• First-person animations: Added Hold My Items, improving item handling and first-person interactions with subtle, vanilla-friendly animations.
• Foliage: Added Better Leaves, giving trees and forests a fuller and more detailed appearance.
• Dynamic lighting: Added LambDynamicLights, allowing held and glowing items to illuminate their surroundings dynamically.

Performance Architecture

• Chunk processing: Added C2ME to improve chunk generation, loading and delivery, with a particular focus on smoother exploration and reduced traversal stutter.
• Game logic: Added Lithium for further optimization of Minecraft's internal game logic and simulation systems.
• Entity rendering: Added Entity Culling to avoid rendering entities and block entities that are not actually visible to the player.
• Frame consistency: Continued tuning around frame pacing and 1% lows instead of focusing only on maximum FPS.

World Generation Compatibility

• C2ME configuration: Adjusted the C2ME world-generation configuration after compatibility testing with the current Tectonic, Terralith and Lithostitched stack.
• Density Function Compiler: Disabled C2ME's Density Function Compiler in the default configuration after identifying compatibility issues with the current world-generation setup.
• Stability: The rest of C2ME's chunk scheduling, chunk I/O, lighting and world-generation optimizations remain enabled.

Tools

• Screenshots: Added Fabrishot for high-resolution screenshots and easier visual testing.

Mac Native Experience

• Expanded Mac Native's macOS-focused experience by combining performance optimization, smoother frame pacing, improved visuals and Vulkan-based shader support within the same modpack.
• Shader support remains optional, allowing players to adjust visual complexity while keeping the same optimized Mac Native foundation.
• Continued tuning for Apple hardware, with particular attention to smooth exploration, rendering consistency and practical performance on macOS.

Note: v0.9.0 represents Mac Native's largest visual expansion so far. This update builds on the project's existing macOS performance focus by adding shaders, improved animations, dynamic lighting and enhanced foliage while continuing to refine frame pacing, chunk loading and overall gameplay consistency.
