Modern Beta aims to recreate the Beta 1.7.3 experience as closely as possible on the latest-ish versions of Minecraft, so you don't have to deal with the hastle of playing the original. No more skin proxies or downgrading graphics drivers!

Important Info

  • World Generation
    • Moderner Beta world gen is pre-loaded, no need to change the world gen settings!
  • Updates
    • Expect frequent-ish updates to fix issues and add new features to perfect the (Modern) Beta experience!
      Feel free to report issues or suggest features in the Discord Server!
      Maybe I should also make a git page..

How to Install

  1. Download a mod launcher, such as Prism Launcher or the Modrinth launcher.
  2. Download the Modern Beta modpack from the versions page or inside of your mod launcher.
  3. Import the Modern Beta modpack into your launcher (if applicable).
  4. Play!

A: No, even if you never played Beta you can still enjoy Modern Beta.

❌Not/⚠️partly implemented features Unfortunately Modern Beta can't be 100% accurate yet.

  • ❌ Old water fall damage (mod hasnt updated to 1.21.1)
  • ⚠️ Old achievements screen (no mod that accurately recreates it yet)
  • ❌ Old vertical toasts (mod isnt available for 1.21.1)
  • ❌ Old passive mob behavior (no mod that recreates it yet)
  • ❌ "Kill and shear" glitch (no mod that recreates it yet)
  • ❌ Transmutation (no mod that recreates it yet)
  • ❌ Old slab and stair placement (no mod that recreates it yet)
