We've decided to remove ComputerCraft from the pack for the following reasons:
1. Conflicts with our "No 1-Block Wonders" philosophy ComputerCraft goes against our core design principle of avoiding overpowered single-block solutions. Each computer/turtle is incredibly powerful since Lua is Turing-complete - meaning with enough time and programming skill, a single turtle can theoretically do everything a player can do. This feels too overpowered for our pack's intended scope.
2. High Programming Skill Barrier The mod is software development intensive, essentially introducing real programming elements to Minecraft. The documentation isn't sufficient for players without solid programming backgrounds, creating a risk of scenarios like "spending hours programming and debugging displays with little to show for it" while other players can't realistically interact with the systems.
3. Create Provides Comparable Alternatives Most common ComputerCraft use cases can be achieved in more visually appealing and Minecraft-authentic ways using Create mod mechanics. This maintains our vanilla+ aesthetic while still providing automation and complex contraptions.
We believe this change better aligns the pack with accessible, visual, and collaborative gameplay that all players can enjoy and contribute to.
