📦 DeliveryDrones — Changelog & Feature Overview
🆕 New in Version 1.0.1 (Current Update)
This update focuses on precision landing mechanics, safer player-following behaviors, and robust configuration options to ensure your drones never get stuck or lost.
| Category | Feature / Change | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Landing | Pre-Landing Safety Check | Drones now scan for a valid, safe landing point on the ground instead of hovering awkwardly mid-air. |
| Landing | Precision Notifications | Status updates now display the exact <distance> in meters from you to the drone, replacing the old generic delivery radius. |
| Follow | Airborne-Follow | Drones will perform an airborne-follow routine before attempting to land (triggered by large falls, controlled via airborne-follow-min-height). |
| Follow | Instant Ground Relocate | If a player makes sudden ground contact while gliding (Elytra + Airborne), the drone instantly relocates to them (limited to once per delivery). |
| Config | New Options | Added follow-airborne-player-before-landing and airborne-follow-min-height to the configuration file. |
| Docs | Project Cleanup | Fully updated the README and Roadmap to match the 1.0.1 specification. |
✅ Core Features (Added since 1.0.0)
If you are upgrading from an older beta or missed the 1.0.0 documentation, here is a breakdown of the powerful systems permanently integrated into the plugin:
🌍 World & Performance
- Cross-Dimension Flight: Drones seamlessly travel across dimensions, delivering items between the Overworld, the Nether, and the End.
- Performance Optimizer: Built-in throttling and particle-culling engines ensure zero server lag, even during high-density deliveries.
- Drone Persistence (
drones.yml): Active drones are saved automatically. If the server restarts or crashes, your drones resume their tasks upon startup.
⚙️ Mechanics & Automation
- Elytra-Follow (
follow-gliding-player): Drones dynamically track and chase players actively gliding with Elytra wings. - Container Auto-Unload: When a drone lands on a designated "Socket," it automatically unloads its inventory into chests or hoppers directly beneath it.
- Collection Animation: A smooth, custom visual effect triggers the moment a player collects a drone.
🔒 Administration & Control
- Fine-Granular Permissions: Take absolute control over who uses the system with specific nodes like
drone.send.players,drone.socket.place, and more. - Feature Toggles: Easily enable or disable entire gameplay loops using
players-enabledandsockets-enabledswitches. - The
/drone locateCommand: Lost a drone? Run this command to generate a distinct particle trail leading directly to your landed drone (requiresdrone.locate). - Localization Support: Hardcoded messages are gone. The plugin natively supports multiple languages via
languages/*.yml(de,en,es,fr,ru,zh).****
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
