🚀 AFKDummy v1.0.1 — Multi-Dummy Support, Performance & Security Patch
This update brings full support for multiple dummies per player, resolves Netty memory buildup, hardens entity protections, and integrates bStats metrics reporting!
✨ What's New & Key Features
-
Multi-Dummy Scaling (
max-dummies-per-player):- Fixed the issue where changing the config limit didn't allow players to spawn additional dummies.
- Players can now spawn and maintain multiple AFK dummies simultaneously up to your configured
max-dummies-per-playersetting. - Each session is assigned a unique deterministic UUID to ensure zero entity collisions in Paper's player list and chunk map.
-
Upgraded Management GUI:
- Main Menu: Shows real-time progression (e.g.,
Active Dummies: 1/2), lists coordinates and remaining timers for every active dummy. - Smart Despawn: Quickly despawn the nearest dummy or shift-click to despawn all active dummies at once.
- Main Menu: Shows real-time progression (e.g.,
-
bStats Telemetry Integration:
- Added bStats metrics reporting to track active dummy counts, popular payment currencies, and server limit configurations anonymously.
🛠️ Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Netty Memory Optimization: Fixed an
EmbeddedChannelbuffer leak by attaching an outbound packet release handler, preventing heap memory buildup over long uptimes. - NMS Location Enforcement: Fixed an issue where Paper's playerdata loading would reset newly placed dummies back to world spawn or old coordinates.
- GUI Interaction Fix: Resolved a client-side glitch where right-clicking a dummy would fire for both hands and trigger the menu twice in a single tick.
- Hardened Grief Protections:
- Added protection against piston heads extending into dummies and sticky pistons pulling adjacent blocks into dummy hitboxes.
- Added block explosion immunity (Nether beds and Respawn Anchors) and portal teleportation cancellation.
- Atomic JSON Storage: Replaced asynchronous direct file writing with atomic temporary file swapping (
ATOMIC_MOVE) to eliminate any risk ofdummies.jsoncorruption. - Dynamic Reloading: Running
/afkdummy reloadnow immediately reschedules expiration cleanup tasks with your updated config intervals.
📦 Compatibility
- Server Software: PaperMC 26.2 (Minecraft 1.21+ / Mojang Mappings)
- Java Version: Java 25 / OpenJDK 25
- Binary Artifact:

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
