Changes
AMCTimber 1.0.6
A major reliability, safety, and performance update over the original 1.0.0 release.
Player-Facing Improvements
- Fallen trees and animations behave more consistently when something interrupts the felling process.
- Active trees no longer silently lose their log drops during a planned server reload or shutdown.
- Undelivered logs are retained and retried instead of being counted as successfully dropped.
- Crush damage no longer affects tamed pets, leashed mobs, villagers, or entities at protected landing points.
- Giant fallen trunks now have better interaction coverage and are easier to chop.
- Fixed incorrect axe durability consumption when stump mode is disabled.
- Failed tree-felling attempts restore affected blocks where it is safe to do so.
Server Safety and Performance
- The display-entity limit now covers the entire falling tree, including logs and leaves.
- Falling animations and landed trunks share one global entity budget.
- Tree scanning and expensive configuration values now have enforced upper limits.
- AMCTimber only processes already-loaded chunks and does not force-load terrain while scanning trees.
- Temporary entities are cleaned up during startup and planned shutdown.
- Failed or interrupted felling sessions release their reserved slots correctly.
- Removed the unused metrics library. AMCTimber has no telemetry and no required runtime dependencies.
Protection Changes
- WorldGuard and Towny checks now fail safely by default when an installed integration encounters an error.
- Falling-tree damage respects protected landing points.
- The built-in player-build detector remains a conservative heuristic, not a guarantee. Use WorldGuard or Towny for important builds and protected areas.
Configuration Changes
- The optional skill-XP command bridge is now disabled by default. Enable it only after configuring a valid command for your skill plugin.
- QA test commands are disabled by default and use the separate
amctimber.qapermission when enabled. - Existing configuration remains readable, but server owners should compare it with the new default configuration and review the protection, entity-limit, XP, and QA settings.
Compatibility
- Paper, Purpur, and Pufferfish
- Minecraft
1.20.6–1.21.x - Java 21 or newer
- Server-side only
- WorldGuard and Towny remain optional
Spigot is not currently supported.
The release was validated on Paper 1.20.6 and Paper 1.21.11.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
