🛡️ v1.5.0 - The Moderation & Performance Update
ChatNext reaches a new level of professionalism with this massive update, introducing a fully-fledged Moderation Engine and a built-in Performance Profiler. Say goodbye to chat lag!
🚀 New Features
- Advanced Moderation System: A complete suite to keep your server's chat clean and safe.
- Anti-Spam & Delay: Prevent players from typing too fast.
- Duplicate Blocker: Automatically block repeated messages.
- Caps-Lock Filter: Block messages with an excessive percentage of uppercase letters.
- Smart Regex & Profanity Filter:
- Block or censor (
****) bad words using smart pattern matching. - Anti-IP/Ads: Built-in Regex rules to detect and instantly block server IP advertising.
- Block or censor (
- Built-in Profiler (
/cn debug): Admins can now toggle a debug mode to see exactly how fast ChatNext processes messages in real-time (in milliseconds). Prove to yourself that the plugin is completely lag-free! - Modular Configuration: Added a new
moderation/folder with dedicated files (settings.yml,anti-spam.yml,rules.yml) to keep your setup clean, organized, and easy to configure.
⚡ Performance & Optimizations (Zero-Lag Core)
- 100% Asynchronous Processing: We have completely removed all main-thread tasks for message broadcasting. ChatNext now handles chat formatting, PlaceholderAPI parsing, mentions, and regex filtering entirely in the background. 0 impact on your TPS.
- Pre-compiled Regex Engine: Profanity and IP patterns are now pre-compiled and cached on server startup or reload. This prevents CPU spikes and eliminates lag drops during heavy chat activity.
- Grouped Sound Execution: Mention sounds are now grouped into a single optimized task, drastically reducing server load when multiple players are tagged at once.
🛠️ Commands & Fixes
- Added
/cn debugcommand to toggle the performance profiler (Requireschatnext.adminpermission). - Updated
/cn reloadto seamlessly reload all the new moderation configs and re-compile Regex rules without needing to restart the server.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
