DeathNote 2.0.0 β Update Log
π² Single-Notebook, Random Distribution (the big one)
β’ Added /deathnote random β randomly awards the one and only Death Note to an online player. Only one notebook can exist on the server at a time; trying to give/spawn a second one is blocked ("Only one Death Note can exist").
β’ This is the SMP-style round mode that was originally planned but missing from 1.0.0 β it's back, though as an admin-triggered random draw rather than a fully automatic timed round.
π» Ownership Binding
β’ The notebook now tracks its current owner. Only the recognized owner can write in it β anyone else gets "the notebook does not recognize you as its owner."
β’ Config gained a persistent note.owner field so ownership survives restarts and isn't reassigned while the current owner is offline.
π‘οΈ Notebook Can't Be Discarded
β’ Dropping the Death Note is now blocked β it returns straight to your inventory ("the black ledger cannot be destroyed").
β’ On the owner's death, the notebook drop is intercepted so it doesn't just despawn or get looted normally (tied into the new single-notebook ownership system).
π οΈ Other
β’ api-version reverted to 1.21 (from 26.2).
β’ Command usage updated: /deathnote [random|rules|give|reload].
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
