New Features
Inventory Inspection & 1-Click Restore: Added a dedicated interface to inspect lost inventories (items, armor, and off-hand) with a direct restore button for the player, protected by a 5-second anti-missclick confirmation.
Right-Click GUI Teleport: Administrators can now right-click any head in the logs menu to instantly teleport to the exact coordinates of the death.
Kill Assist System: Leverages damage tracker history to automatically identify and announce players who dealt significant damage (>20%, customizable in config) using the {assister}, {assist_percent}, and {assist_suffix} variables.
Combat Damage Recap: Sends a private post-death breakdown to the victim detailing all recent sources of incoming damage, values in HP, and percentage contributions over a configurable tracking window.
Killstreak & Shutdown System: Implemented a streak tracking system that broadcasts global chat announcements at configured milestones (e.g., 5, 10, 15, 20, 50 kills) along with high-streak shutdown alerts.
Totem Pops Counter: Tracks in real time how many totems the victim popped in combat, displaying the values via {totems} and a configurable {totem_suffix} (supporting singular and plural).
Sniper Shot Detection (Projectile Distance): Measures the exact 3D distance of the projectile between launch and impact (bows, crossbows, and tridents), highlighting long-range kills with {distance} and automatic distance tagging.
1.21+ Mace Smash Support: Captures the attacker's fall height during the fatal strike before Minecraft resets it, providing configurable {mace_height} and {mace_suffix} variables.
Conditional Messages Engine: Implemented an advanced condition system via PlaceholderAPI (e.g., %auraskills_power% >= 100) with target selection (VICTIM, KILLER, BOTH, ANY) and native support for %killer_<placeholder>% for clan and guild wars.
- Complete PlaceholderAPI Expansion: Added comprehensive last-death placeholders (
%deathannouncer_last_killer%,_last_cause%,_last_weapon%,_last_coords%,_last_date%,_last_distance%), alongside active totem pops, current streak, and highest killstreak.
Discord Cause and Conditional Filters: Added dedicated cause filtering (filter-causes) and condition checking (conditional-filter) to prevent Discord spam, supporting global causes (ALL or *).
Updates
Log Storage Optimization (Anti-Lag): Implemented GZIP Base64 compression on inventory snapshots and automated 7-day retention cleanup (max 500 records) in YAML and MongoDB, eliminating massive 13,000+ line files and disk lag.
Fixes
Hexadecimal Colors in GUI Lore: Fixed an issue where RGB/Hex color codes (&x&r&r&g&g&b&b and &#rrggbb) appeared as raw text in weapon descriptions inside log lores.
API
New API Version Release: Released a new version of DeathAnnouncer-API (now aligned with v1.6.0-RELEASE) featuring expanded data models (DeathLogEntry) with full support for coordinates, inventory snapshots, projectile distance, and combat metadata.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
