DurabilityPlus v1.2.1 — Realism & Performance Update
This release completes the 1.1–1.2 development cycle, introducing major new systems for degradation realism, weather-based wear, and overall stability improvements.
Added
- Weapon and bow damage now dynamically scale with durability
- Armor protection weakens progressively as armor wears down
- Weather wear system: tools and armor degrade over time during rain or storms
- Wrong-tool multipliers for mining and combat misuse
- Salvage system allowing material recovery from broken tools and armor
- Auto-Protect system to prevent accidental final breakage
- Low-durability ping with per-player toggle command (
/dp ping) - Mending rebalance factor to prevent infinite repair loops
- Optional repair commands:
/dp repairand/dp repairall - Improved compatibility with custom items and non-vanilla gear
- Updated config sections for all new features (
weatherWear,wrongTool,salvage,autoProtect,mending,lowDurabilityPing)
Changed
- Completely restructured mining and combat degradation logic for higher accuracy
- Rewritten internal scaling system for consistent degradation across all item types
- Optimized event handling for lower overhead and improved tick stability
- Updated animation system using ProtocolLib for smoother visual feedback
- Improved config parsing with null-safety and legacy value support
- Better integration with RealisticSeasons, mcMMO, and similar mechanics plugins
Fixed
- Fixed rare item desync when updating stacked durability values
- Fixed armor durability not updating correctly in edge cases
- Fixed Elytra repair exploits and incorrect wear detection
- Fixed lore refreshes not applying after reload
- Fixed break-time inconsistencies under certain Paper server builds
Summary
DurabilityPlus v1.2.1 focuses on realism, stability, and immersion.
This update makes durability behavior more responsive, configurable, and consistent — preparing the groundwork for future optional “delay mode” and advanced degradation systems.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
