Fast Chunks v1.3.0 - Autonomous Memory Governor & High-Speed Vehicles
๐ก๏ธ Autonomous Memory Governor
- Real-time JVM heap headroom evaluation every 5s to prevent OutOfMemoryError and chunk exhaustion.
- Automatic backpressure throttling when heap hits 85% threshold, shielding production servers from Elytra/Boat spam.
- New admin commands:
/fc memory- Inspect live heap percentage, governor status, and total loaded chunks./fc purge- Instantly flush pending queues and trigger JVM garbage collection.
๐ค High-Velocity Vehicle Prefetch Stream
- Tailored lookahead streaming (8 chunks ahead within a focused 40ยฐ conic angle) for high-velocity vehicles:
- Blue ice highway boat transit (60+ m/s)
- High-speed minecart rail lines
- Boosted horses
- Prevents players from hitting unloaded chunk barriers at extreme speeds.
โ๏ธ Concurrent Terrain Generation Throttling
- Segregates async cached chunk loads from new world generation (
max-generating-in-flight: 2). - Eliminates CPU spikes caused by exploratory flight into ungenerated territory while keeping pre-cached loading blazing fast.
๐ฅ๏ธ Interactive GUI v1.3.0
- Live Memory Governor status indicator & total chunk counts in Engine Metrics header.
- Interactive Vehicle Stream Toggle (Slot 21).
- One-click Emergency Cache Purge Button (Slot 25).
๐ Compatibility & Performance
- Full support for Spigot, Paper, Purpur, and Folia (1.20 - 1.21.4). Tested and verified on Paper 26.3 with Java 25 LTS.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
