FastGUI v5.7.6 Update Log
Release Date: December 21, 2025
Major Updates
1. UI Data Structure Optimization
- Added Display Name Field: Added a display name field to the header of UI DAT files
- Improved Name Management: Interface display names are now stored independently from filenames, providing a more flexible naming system
- Backward Compatibility: Existing UI files are automatically compatible with the new structure, and old files will automatically add the display name field on first access
2. /fg set Command Enhancement
- Display Name Update: The
/fg set <interface_name> id <newID>command now updates both filename and display name - Independent Display Name Setting: Added
/fg set <interface_name> display <display_name>subcommand to set interface display name separately - Smart Name Handling: When only setting ID, the display name automatically updates to the new ID; when setting display name, the filename remains unchanged
3. UI Display System Improvement
- Dynamic Name Reading: When players open an interface, the system now reads and displays from the display name field in the DAT file
- Enhanced Multi-language Support: Display names support multi-language variable replacement, such as {player}, {time}, etc.
- Name Formatting: Support for color codes and formatting codes in display names
Technical Improvements
- Data Structure Optimization: Restructured DAT file format, adding version identifier and display name field
- Memory Usage Optimization: Improved UI data loading and caching mechanisms
- Enhanced Error Handling: Added more comprehensive file corruption detection and repair mechanisms
- Performance Boost: Optimized UI opening and name reading performance
Compatibility Notes
- This version is fully compatible with existing interface data and configuration files
- After upgrade, existing UI files will automatically add display name field on first access (defaulting to filename)
- New display name functionality does not affect existing plugins and commands
- Table.dat registration information will automatically update to support the new display name system
Known Issues
- None
Upgrade Recommendations
- Backup existing FastGUI data folder
- Stop the server
- Replace plugin files
- Start the server and check console logs
- Test interface renaming and display name setting functionality

New Command Examples
# Rename interface (updates both filename and display name)

# Set only display name (filename unchanged)
/fg set myui display "My Custom Interface"
# Set display name with color codes
/fg set myui display "&6&lGolden Interface"
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
