Changes
This update adds Siege Awareness, a Hardcore-focused behavior layer that makes hostile mobs react intelligently when players barricade themselves.
New
- Siege Awareness (Hardcore-only)
- Detects when a player is enclosed inside a structure (doors/trapdoors/gates and solid walls)
- Zombies reposition to pressure entry points (doors / chokepoints) instead of idling
- Skeletons reposition to create firing angles and reduce easy “peek” abuse
- Orders are rate-limited to avoid spam and keep behavior natural
Gameplay Philosophy
- No artificial damage scaling
- No block breaking
- No unfair surprise mechanics
If you get overwhelmed, it’s because you chose a bad position — not because the game cheated.
Notes
- GrimTactics still activates only on Hardcore worlds (world name does not matter)
- Non-hardcore servers run in passive mode
Recommended
- Paper / Purpur
- Java 21
- Minecraft 1.21+
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
