✨ ItemEdit 4.0.0 - A complete recode
ItemEdit 4.0.0 is a major update built around a complete plugin recode. It brings modern server support, a more flexible messaging system, and new tools for editing item data.
⚠️ Important - breaking compatibility change: For the first time, ItemEdit drops support for older server and Java versions. Before updating, make sure your server runs Minecraft 1.21.4 or newer on Java 21 or newer. Spigot is no longer supported.
If you need to keep using an older Minecraft version, Java below 21, or Spigot, stay on ItemEdit 3.7.10; version 4.0.0 will not run in that environment.
⚙️ Requirements for 4.0.0
- Minecraft 1.21.4 or newer
- Java 21 or newer
- Paper and Paper forks (such as Purpur, Folia, Leaf, UniverseSpigot, Canvas etc...) - Folia is fully supported
- Spigot is no longer supported
🧰 New item editing commands
Version 4.0.0 adds four dedicated commands for editing newer item properties:
/itemeditequipment(/iee) - edit equipment properties/itemeditfood(/ief) - edit food properties/itemeditkinetic(/iek) - edit kinetic properties/itemeditpiercing(/iep) - edit piercing properties
These commands make the corresponding item data easier to inspect and configure.
💬 MiniMessage and translations
- Full MiniMessage formatting support for messages.
- Existing legacy color formats remain compatible, including
&codes. - New translations: 🇯🇵 Japanese, 🇰🇷 Korean, and 🇱🇹 Lithuanian.
🐛 Also included
- A complete recode of the plugin.
- Various bug fixes and improvements.
Thanks for using ItemEdit! Please review the compatibility requirements before upgrading to 4.0.0.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
