LsEnderChest 2.0.1
Note about 2.0.0:
Version 2.0.0 was briefly released, but I noticed that a few things were missing or not finalized the way I wanted.
Rather than leave an incomplete major release available, I removed 2.0.0 and replaced it with 2.0.1.2.0.1 contains the complete 2.0 update and also expands compatibility across Minecraft 26.1โ26.3.
LsEnderChest 2.0.1 is a major rewrite focused on safer storage, recovery tools, better administration, modern Paper support, and improved data protection.
This update introduces built-in conversion, restore history, overflow protection, improved logging, stronger anti-dupe protections, wider 26.x support, and much more.
โจ New Features
-
Ender Chest Restore System
- Added
/ec restore <player> - Fully GUI-based restore history
- Restore points are grouped by Ender Chest session
- Preview old chest contents before restoring
- Confirmation screen before a restore is applied
- The current chest is automatically backed up before restoring
- Accidental restores can therefore be reverted
- Added
-
Overflow Chest Protection
- Players no longer lose items when their Ender Chest becomes smaller
- If a player loses row permissions, items that no longer fit are moved into an Overflow Chest
- The Overflow Chest is placed in the final available slot
- Example:
- 4 rows โ 1 row
- Slots 1โ8 remain untouched
- Slot 9 becomes the Overflow Chest
- Everything that no longer fits is safely stored
- Overflow Chests cannot be placed
- They cannot be used as portable storage
- Right-clicking one releases all stored items onto the ground
- Overflow Chest lore is fully configurable
- Overflow contents are securely stored server-side
-
Built-In Vanilla Ender Chest Converter
- The separate
LsEnderChestConverterplugin is no longer required - Vanilla Ender Chests can automatically migrate when players join
- Added manual conversion commands
- Conversion verifies storage before clearing vanilla contents
- Designed to prevent item loss during migration
- The separate
-
New Commands
/ec/enderchest/lsec
All three commands provide the same LsEnderChest functionality.
New administrative commands include:
/ec restore <player>/ec convert <player>/ec convert all/ec confirm/ec reload
-
Bulk Command Confirmation
- Dangerous bulk commands no longer run immediately
/ec convert allonly prepares the operation/ec confirmmust be used within 30 seconds before anything happens- Helps prevent accidental mass conversions
-
Live Admin Ender Chest Access
- Administrators can open another player's Ender Chest even while that player is using it
- Admins and players interact with the same live inventory
- Changes appear immediately for both viewers
- Prevents stale inventory copies from being created
-
Per-Player Audit Logs
- Removed the old global
simple.loganddetailed.logsystem - Every Ender Chest owner now has their own UUID-based journal
Example:
plugins/LsEnderChest/logs/players/<uuid>.logLogs can contain:
- chest opens
- item additions/removals
- administrator access
- blocked-item attempts
- conversions
- overflow creation
- restore actions
- Removed the old global
-
Admin Action Logging
- Actions performed by administrators are recorded against the affected player's chest
- Logs include who actually performed the action
- Makes staff actions much easier to audit
๐ Security & Data Safety
-
Improved Anti-Dupe Protection
- One live inventory session is maintained per Ender Chest owner
- Prevents multiple stale copies of the same chest from being edited independently
- Saving is ordered and protected against overlapping writes
-
Safer Async Storage
- Database operations run through dedicated storage handling
- Inventory interaction stays on the server thread
- Reduces the risk of race conditions and unsafe async Bukkit access
-
Safer Overflow Claims
- Overflow Chests use protected server-side records
- Copying the item name or lore does not create a valid Overflow Chest
- Overflow records can only be claimed once
- Overflow Chests are one-time recovery items rather than portable storage
-
Safer Restores
- A backup is created before every restore
- Historical Overflow Chests receive fresh backing storage when restored
- Prevents old claimed Overflow IDs from being reused
-
Safer Conversion
- Vanilla contents are verified before being removed
- Conversion will not blindly overwrite existing custom storage
- Conversion and maintenance operations temporarily protect the affected chest
โก Improvements
-
Minecraft 26.x Support
- Added support for:
- Minecraft 26.1
- Minecraft 26.1.1
- Minecraft 26.1.2
- Minecraft 26.2

- Java 25 is required
- Added support for:
-
Paper & Purpur Support
- Designed for modern Paper servers
- Compatible with Purpur as a Paper fork
-
Gradle Migration
- Project has been completely moved to Gradle
- Uses Gradle Kotlin DSL
- Cleaner and more maintainable project structure
-
Improved Update Checker
- Checks the official LsPlugins update endpoint
- Update checks run asynchronously
- Administrators receive a cleaner clickable update notification
- Updates are never automatically installed
-
Better Permission Handling
- Row-permission changes are monitored automatically
- Losing a rank no longer causes items outside the new chest size to disappear
- Extra items are safely moved into an Overflow Chest
- The highest
enderchest.rows.1-6permission determines chest size
-
Improved Command Completion
- Player-name completion for
/ec,/enderchest, and/lsec - Optional offline-player suggestions
- Player-name completion for
-
Improved Blocked Item Protection
- Better handling for:
- shift-clicking

- Final inventory contents are checked before saving
- Better handling for:
-
Better Internal File Organization
- Internal state files are now kept inside:
plugins/LsEnderChest/EnderChest/- Keeps the main plugin directory cleaner
- Existing internal files are migrated automatically
- Internal files include conversion state, row state, overflow security data, and SQLite storage
-
Improved Configuration
- Overflow Chest lore is configurable
- Config documentation has been updated for the new 2.0 systems
- Internal implementation settings are kept out of the normal config where they do not need user adjustment
๐ ๏ธ Command Changes
/lsec, /ec, and /enderchest are now equivalent.
-
/ec- Opens your Ender Chest
-
/ec <player>- Opens another player's Ender Chest
- Admins can access the same live chest even while the owner is using it
-
/ec restore <player>- Opens the restore history GUI
-
/ec convert <player>- Converts one player's vanilla Ender Chest
-
/ec convert all- Prepares a bulk conversion
- Does not run immediately
-
/ec confirm- Confirms the pending bulk operation
-
/ec reload- Reloads supported configuration files
๐ EssentialsX Compatibility
/ecand/enderchestare registered as full LsEnderChest commands- They are not simple aliases
- When EssentialsX is installed, LsEnderChest intentionally takes ownership of the normal
/ecand/enderchestcommand labels
๐งน Removed / Reworked
- Removed the old
simple.log/detailed.loglogging system - Replaced it with per-player UUID audit journals
- The standalone LsEnderChestConverter is no longer required
- Removed the old exclusive admin edit lock
- Replaced separate editable chest copies with shared live sessions
- Removed Overflow Chest inventory storage
- Overflow Chests are now secure one-time recovery items that drop their contents when used
โ ๏ธ Important
If you previously used LsEnderChestConverter, remove the standalone converter plugin when upgrading.
LsEnderChest now handles vanilla Ender Chest conversion itself.
If you briefly downloaded 2.0.0, replace it with 2.0.1.
2.0.0 was removed because a few parts of the release were incomplete or missing, and 2.0.1 is the corrected full 2.0 release.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
