MailboxGUI-DiscBridge 1.1.0 Changelog
MailboxGUI-DiscBridge 1.1.0 is the companion update for MailboxGUI 5.1.0. It adds Book Letter Discord notifications, COD item-currency payment notifications, improved COD price text support, localized Discord message files, player-selectable Discord DM languages, and 26.2.x compatibility through MailboxGUI 5.1.0.
Important Notes
- MailboxGUI-DiscBridge 1.1.0 requires MailboxGUI 5.1.0 or newer.
- MailboxGUI-DiscBridge 1.1.0 or newer is required for 26.2.x support because 26.2.x requires MailboxGUI 5.1.0.
- Older DiscBridge versions do not support 26.2.x because they target older MailboxGUI versions and older notification payloads.
- DiscordSRV is still required.
- DiscBridge runs on a Bukkit/Paper/Purpur backend server, not on Velocity itself.
Compatibility
MailboxGUI-DiscBridge 1.1.0 follows the backend compatibility of MailboxGUI 5.1.0.
Supported server versions:
Spigot/Paper/Purpur 1.18.2 through 1.21.11
Spigot/Paper/Purpur 26.1.x
Spigot/Paper/Purpur 26.2.x
New: Book Letter Discord Notifications
DiscBridge now supports MailboxGUI 5.1.0 Book Letter delivery events.
New Discord message template:
dm-book-letter:
- "📬 You received a book letter from {sender} on {server}."
- "Check your mailbox, a public Post Office box, or a Post Office NPC in-game."
New: COD Item-Currency Payment Notifications
DiscBridge now supports COD item-currency payment mail from MailboxGUI 5.1.0.
New Discord message template:
dm-cod-item-currency-payment:
- "💜 You received a COD item-currency payment from {sender} on {server}."
- "Payment: {price}"
- "Check your mailbox, a public Post Office box, or a Post Office NPC in-game."
Improved COD Price Text
The {price} placeholder now supports MailboxGUI 5.1.0 codPriceText.
It can show:
- Vault money
- Item currency
- XP currency
- Saved item/template currency
- Combined COD prices
Examples:
100
Diamond: 4, Gold Nugget: 2, XP: 100
100, Diamond: 3
Rare Sword: 1, XP: 250
New Discord Message Language System
Discord DM/channel templates now use the new language folder:
/plugins/MailboxGUI-DiscBridge/disclanguage/messages_*.yml
Supported Discord message files:
messages_en.yml
messages_de.yml
messages_es.yml
messages_fr.yml
messages_it.yml
messages_ja.yml
messages_ko.yml
messages_nl.yml
messages_pl.yml
messages_ru.yml
messages_sv.yml
messages_uk.yml
messages_zh_cn.yml
messages_zh_tw.yml
The old root messages.yml file is not used by the final 1.1.0 system.
New Player Command
Players can now choose the language used for their own individual Discord DMs:
/mbdiscord language <language>
Examples:
/mbdiscord language English
/mbdiscord language Spanish
/mbdiscord language Español
/mbdiscord language German
/mbdiscord language Deutsch
/mbdiscord language zh_cn
Supported language codes:
en, de, es, fr, it, ja, ko, nl, pl, ru, sv, uk, zh_cn, zh_tw
Player-selected languages only affect individual Discord DMs.
They do not affect admin/API mass-mail channel notices.
Config Update
New default Discord message language setting:
discord-messages:
default-language: "en"
This default is used when:
- a player has not selected a Discord DM language
- DiscBridge sends an admin/API mass-mail channel notice
Mass-mail channel notices always use discord-messages.default-language.
Upgrade From 1.0.x
DiscBridge 1.1.0 includes a direct upgrade path from 1.0.x.
Old custom Discord messages from:
config.yml
messages:
are migrated into:
/plugins/MailboxGUI-DiscBridge/disclanguage/messages_en.yml
Other translated messages_*.yml files are created from bundled defaults.
After upgrade:
- Old custom English Discord messages should be preserved in
disclanguage/messages_en.yml. config.ymlshould no longer contain the old rootmessages:section.- Root
messages.ymlshould not exist. /mbdiscord admin reloadshould not recreate rootmessages.yml.
If a server used an unreleased test build that created root messages.yml, DiscBridge migrates that file into disclanguage/messages_en.yml, backs it up, and removes it.
Reload Updates
/mbdiscord admin reload now reloads:
- Config
- Discord message language files
- In-game language files
- Player data
Recommended Testing
After updating, test:
/mbdiscord admin status
/mbdiscord admin mode
/mbdiscord admin reload
/mbdiscord admin testdm <player>
/mbdiscord admin testchannel
/mbdiscord language
/mbdiscord language Spanish
/mbdiscord language Español
/mbdiscord status
Then test actual MailboxGUI deliveries:
Classic Letter DM
Book Letter DM
Package DM
COD package with Vault money
COD package with item currency
COD item-currency payment mail
Returned COD package
Money mail
Admin/API mass-mail channel notice
Expected behavior:
- Individual DMs use the recipient’s selected Discord DM language when set.
- Individual DMs use
discord-messages.default-languagewhen no player language is set. - Book Letters use the Book Letter DM template.
- COD item-currency payment mail uses the item-currency payment template.
{price}shows MailboxGUI 5.1.0 COD price text.- Mass-mail channel notices use
discord-messages.default-language. - Player-selected languages do not affect mass-mail channel notices.
- Network mode notifications work through one
NETWORK_NODEbackend.
Summary
MailboxGUI-DiscBridge 1.1.0 adds full MailboxGUI 5.1.0 notification support, Book Letter alerts, COD item-currency payment alerts, localized Discord message files, player-selectable Discord DM languages, and safe migration from older custom Discord message templates.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
