OrangeKits 1.0.0 — Initial release
A configurable kit plugin with a drag-to-rearrange GUI, per-kit permissions and cooldowns, kit-on-join / kit-on-death, force-give, and a full settings file. Built for Paper, Purpur, and Spigot 1.20.x–1.21.x.
Highlights
- Editable kit GUI. Staff can pick up tiles in layout-edit mode and drop them anywhere — kit slots are stored per-kit, not hardcoded.
- Left-click previews, right-click claims. Preview shows the kit's items in their stored slot positions, with a Claim button (or a "No permission" barrier).
- Color-coded tiles. Kits you can claim show the configured icon with a green name; kits you can't are red glass with a red name and a "No permission" note.
- Per-kit Settings GUI. Icon (shift-click with held item), cooldown (LMB ±1m / RMB ±1s / Q resets), one-time toggle, claim sound (cycle/preview), in-GUI move, delete.
- Kit-on-join & kit-on-death. Both opt-in, both route through the full claim flow so cooldowns and one-time flags actually apply. If an auto-give fails, the player sees why — e.g. "Tried to give your on-join kit but it's on cooldown — 142s left."
- Force commands.
/kit forcefor an instant admin-give that bypasses all checks;/kit forceloadqueues a kit so the player gets it on their next join with no opt-out.

Configuration
Everything player-facing lives in plugins/OrangeKits/settings.yml:
- Defaults — cooldown, one-time flag, sound, icon, permission prefix used by
/kit create - Sounds — creation sound + the curated list the Settings GUI cycles through
- GUI titles — main, edit-mode, preview, settings (with
%kit%placeholder) - Cooldown edit steps — how much each click changes a kit's cooldown
- Messages — every player-facing string, with
&color codes and%kit%,%player%,%time%,%context%, etc. placeholders
Run /kit reload to apply edits without a restart.
Compatibility
- ✅ Paper — 1.20.x and 1.21.x
- Requires Java 17+
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
