Release 1.12 - The Design & Smoothness Update
This update gives pedestals a visual overhaul: new shapes and themes, a cleaner editor, smoother animations, and optional visual extras.
New Features
- New Shapes: Twelve more simple or unusual silhouettes (Plinth, Column, Obelisk, Spire, Altar, Ziggurat, Rustic, Verdigris, Ossuary, Geode, Bamboo, Cherry). The template menu is now paged so every template shows.
- New Themes: Nine built-in design themes (Minimal, Arcane, Nether, Frost, Gilded, Overgrown, Abyss, Ember, Void) are installed as templates (
themes.install-defaults). Apply them from Design Templates. - Name Without Recipe: Pedestals with no recipe now show their name/custom name hologram (toggle with
show-name-without-recipeinconfig.yml). - Optional Visuals (all off by default): New
visuals:section inconfig.yml- ingredient progress bar, "ready to craft" banner, hologram pop-in, idle particles, ground ring, craft sequence, discovery reveal, and per-pedestal rarity tiers (Display Settings > Rarity Tier). - GUI Sounds: Click, page-turn, save and delete sounds in the editor menus (
gui.sounds).
Bug Fixes
- Theme Fix: Applying a theme no longer drops the item under the pedestal.
Improvements & Technical Changes
- GUI Cleanup: Tighter button layout, a dark interior inside the frame so buttons stand out, shorter button text, and on/off dots on toggles.
- Smoother Animation: Spin, pulse and orbital motion now use client-side interpolation (updates every 2 ticks) for smoother visuals with far fewer packets.
- Performance: Animations and text updates skip pedestals with no nearby players; hologram text is only re-sent when it changes; chunk checks no longer force-load chunks.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
