Changes
Timed player permissions; Rank tracks; Sorted tab list; Import from other permission plugins.
New features
- Timed player permissions. /rp pperm add <player> <permission> [duration] takes an optional duration, either in seconds or like 30m, 12h, 7d, 1d12h. Adding a permission the player already has with a new duration changes when it expires. Expired permissions are removed within a second for online players, and when they join for offline ones. The player permissions menu shows how much time each one has left.
- Rank tracks: promote and demote. A track is a list of ranks in ranks.yml, lowest first. The new commands are /rp promote and /rp demote to move a player along a track, /rp tracks to list them, and /rp settrack and /rp deltrack to edit them. Staff with realpermissions.track.<track> can promote on that track without being able to set any rank. If a rank is renamed or deleted, its tracks are updated to match.
- Tab list sorted by rank. Ranks now have a weight, and the heaviest is listed first. /rp setweight <rank> <weight|auto> sets it. Players that another plugin already put in a scoreboard team are left alone. You can turn this off with Sort-Tablist in config.yml or in the settings menu.
- /rp check <player> <permission> tells you whether a player has a permission and why. It checks their own permissions, their rank and the ranks it inherits, wildcards, super user, op, other plugins, the permission's default, and parent permissions.
- Vault support. When Vault is installed, RealPermissions registers as its permission and chat provider. Chat formatters, shops and scoreboards will see ranks, permissions and rank prefixes, and this works for offline players too.
- Import from other plugins. /rp import <luckperms|pex|groupmanager> shows what it found and what it will leave out. Add confirm to run the import. It brings over ranks, players, prefixes, weights, negated and timed permissions, and LuckPerms tracks. It never demotes a player. For LuckPerms, run /lp export first.
- Dialog menus on 1.21.6+. Settings (/rp settings), confirmations before deleting a rank or player or removing a timed rank, and text input all use native dialogs. Older servers get the classic inventory menus.
- New plugin permissions browser. It has pages and search. Each plugin is tagged Native (hooked through the RealPermissions API) or Imported (read from its plugin.yml), and permissions a rank or player already has are marked with ✔.
- /rp now shows the plugin's version and build info.
Fixes
- If a player joined with a timed rank, their countdown was lost, so /rp ctr and the players menu showed no timed rank for them. It is now kept.
- /rp setrank and /rp settimedrank with an unknown rank now tell the sender, not the target. settimedrank no longer sets an empty rank in that case.
- The API-logs toggle in settings no longer also flips the chat-format toggle.
Changes
Requires Java 16 and Minecraft 1.14 or newer.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
