✅ Seasonal Flora Update (Winter Purge Fix)
This update focuses on making seasonal flora cleanup reliable, especially during Winter, while keeping the system lag-safe and respecting player-placed blocks.
🧊 Winter Cleanup Now Works
- Seasonal flora (flowers, mushrooms, berries, etc.) is now correctly removed during Winter according to
remove_seasons. - Cleanup is performed gradually over time using the configured budget to avoid lag spikes.
✅ Fixed Surface Detection (Root Cause)
- The purge system now correctly scans around the surface level instead of only checking the top solid block.
- This prevents cases where flowers placed at
y+1were never detected and therefore never removed.
🧠 Improved Rule Handling
max_per_chunkand spacing rules now behave correctly because the system detects flora blocks properly.- Seasonal rules now match the intended design (example: mushrooms can spawn in Autumn only and be removed in Winter).
🛡️ Player-Placed Protection
protect_player_placed: truecontinues to ensure that player-placed flora is not deleted during seasonal purge.
🌍 Now Open Source
- The project is now open source, so anyone can review the code, contribute improvements, or adapt it for their own server.
⚙️ Recommended Config (Optional, but Strongly Suggested)
To ensure protection and cleanup remain consistent across restarts:
persist_placements: truepersist_autosave_minutes: 5
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
