Changes
SentinelCore โ Client Brand Detection
Added
- New Client Brand Detection module (
ClientBrandTracker) that identifies a connecting player's client brand (Vanilla, Fabric, Forge, Lunar, Badlion, etc.) via Paper'sgetClientBrandName()API with a manualminecraft:brand/ legacyMC|Brandplugin-channel decode as a fallback for non-Paper builds. - Brand-spoof detection: if a client reports "vanilla" but has Forge/Fabric/Quilt
handshake channels - or channels associated with known cheat/utility clients - open,
the player is flagged with a
BrandSpoofWarning. /ac profile <player>now shows a formatted, colour-coded client brand line, including aSPOOF?tag when a mismatch is detected.PlayerProfile#getClientBrand()/isBrandSpoofWarning()exposed for use by other detection modules.
Notes
- Detection relies on the client's own channel registration handshake and self-reported brand string, both of which a sufficiently modified client can still forge - this module raises suspicion, it does not provide certainty.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
