Complete rewrite
ShieldStunFix 2.0.0 is rebuilt from scratch: smaller, faster and correct on every affected version.
What it does
- Restores shield stunning: disable a shield with an axe, then land your follow-up hit instantly
- Only affects the hit that disables the shield, normal blocked hits keep vanilla invulnerability
- Safer than Paper's unsupported
skip-vanilla-damage-tick-when-shield-blockedoption, which changes every blocked hit
Compatibility
- One jar for Paper 1.20.6, 1.21 to 1.21.11 and 26.1 to 26.3
- Folia supported
- Works on Java 21 and Java 25 servers
Performance
- Zero background work: no tasks, no timers, no tick listeners
- Only runs when a shield is actually disabled
- No config, no commands, no dependencies
Fixes
- Respects modern item components (1.21.5+): disable duration and which items can disable shields now come from the game, not hardcoded values
- Corrected project description: Paper never removed axe shield-disabling, it removed the old stun behavior
Install
Drop the jar in plugins/ and restart. Not needed on 1.20.4 or older, stunning still works there natively.
( I lowk lost the old version )
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
