New Souls
- Breeze: When sprinting + jump while looking downward shoot a perfect wind charge beneath your feet
- Shulker: When dealing or taking damage launch a shulker bullet every 2s
- Drowned: Gain slight water attributes like water movement (depth strider) and more oxygen bonus, when entering water (or rain) gain a movement speed bonus and all melee and trident hits deal an additional 3 damage on top
Boss Souls
For both Minecraft bosses the way of obtaining the soul has been slightly altered, when killing one, their respective soul will be directly offered without having to be infused by another mob. The boss souls are not per-se overpowered but have very unique niches which make them stand out.
- Ender Dragon: When flying with the elytra after gaining certain momentum enter
Dragon Flight. During this you fly generally faster and nearby entites will automatically be attacked and pushed away similar to a dragon flying through them. In this state its way easier to achieve infinite flight - Wither: Become undead, this brings various perks:
- Passive Regeneration instead of tied to hunger
- Reversed instant health/damage
- Suspectible to Smite
- Immunity to Regeneration, Poison and Wither
- 1.5 Attack Damage
- 3 Armor Toughness
Balance Adjustments
Hoglin Soul had some issues, which are also listed in the issues section, but apart from that it also had the general problem that each split damage would cause armor damage which often times led to armor being shred way more quickly. In order to fix this and give Hoglin Soul a bit more edge, defered damage ticks now no longer deal armor durability damage, only the first source of damage. This way the soul also saves up armor durability which can come in handy.
Improvements & Adjustments
- Adjusted WitchSoul to not actively mutate potions, it still does but with no effect for uses outside the soul.
- When WitchSoul is removed for any reason, potion cooldowns are reset
- Rejoining no longer resets potion cooldowns, effectively circumventing the ability cooldown
Various Fixes and Issues
- Fixed an issue where when players quit or the server stopped while players were online, some souls were not properly cleaned up, mostly affected were attributes which carried over even when the soul was no more.
- Fixed an issue where the phantom soul would allow the phantom glide during elytra flight or kept it activated when activating the elytra which led to an infinite elytra boost
- Fixed an issue where continous block damage sources like campfires, magma blocks would triggere the HoglinSoul migation more often than actual damage applied. This resulted in players receiving an ever increasing backlog of potential damage, which had disastrous effects.
- Fixed infused mobs no longer using soul ability when the target function was a passive nature like witches healing raiders, which previously also triggered souls like Skeleton to shoot arrows
- Fixed an issue where on a server restart, witch infused mobs drinking a potion would be nuked on next resume due to a modifier not being removed
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
