๐ TagsBits Update Summary
This update focuses on reliability, security, and expanding the economy experience with new investment opportunities and safer transactions.
๐ Critical Database Bug Fixed
A major issue affecting data persistence has been resolved.
The original DatabaseManager.savePlayer() implementation contained an invalid cast generated by the compiler, causing silent ClassCastException errors whenever player data was saved.
As a result:
Tag purchases were not being saved. Player balances could be lost. Savings accounts were not persisted correctly.
The entire save system was rewritten using proper try-with-resources blocks for every PreparedStatement, ensuring stable and reliable data storage.
๐ฌ Secure Sell Confirmation System
Selling items through the bank is now safer than ever.
When a player selects "Sell All":
The inventory closes automatically. A detailed chat breakdown displays every item being sold and its total value. Clickable [CONFIRM] and [CANCEL] buttons appear. The confirmation request expires after 30 seconds. Items are only removed and coins credited after confirmation.
This prevents accidental sales and gives players complete control over their transactions.
๐ฆ 10 New Savings Boxes
The savings system has been expanded with new investment tiers featuring different risks and rewards.
New savings plans include:
๐ฉ Iron ๐ช Copper ๐ Emerald ๐ฎ Amethyst โซ Netherite ๐ Echo โญ Star โจ Beacon ๐ Dragon ๐ฅ Legendary
Each savings box offers unique investment limits, durations, and profit rates, allowing players to choose strategies that match their goals.
โ๏ธ Expanded Ore Selling System
Eight new materials can now be sold through the economy menu:
Ancient Debris Blaze Rod Magma Cream Obsidian Crying Obsidian Bone Nether Wart Nether Quartz
All values remain fully configurable through config.yml.
๐ Savings System Improvements
Several issues related to savings accounts have been addressed:
Fixed maturity checks to prevent duplicate notifications. Deposit messages now display properly formatted savings box names. Minimum balance requirements are validated before deposits are processed.
With these improvements, TagsBits becomes even more stable, secure, and rewarding, delivering a better experience for both players and server administrators.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
