3.0.0-mc26.2-paper
Compatibility
Changes
[3.0.0] - 2026-09-05
⚠️ Two breaking changes read before updating:
- Requires Paper. This build needs Paper 26.2 and won't load on Spigot. Don't update until your server is on Paper.
- Old Terms stop working. The bow is now identified by a data tag instead of its name. Bows given before this update are just named bows reissue them with
/giveterminator.
Also: item name/lore now use MiniMessage (legacy & color codes are gone), and the license changed from GPL-3.0 to AGPL-3.0.
For admins
- Fully configurable via
config.yml: shooting (damage, cooldown, spread, velocity, which clicks fire the bow, sounds), item appearance, and all of Salvation's numbers (hits required, range, pierce, damage, cooldown, particles). /terminatorreloadreload the config with no restart. Newterminator.reloadpermission (ops by default)./giveterminator [player]now works from console, targets other players, has tab completion, and reports unknown player names instead of failing silently.terminator.givepermission is now actually enforced. It was defined but never checked before. Still defaults to everyone setdefault: falseinpaper-plugin.ymlif you don't want players giving it to themselves.- Bad config values are logged and replaced with safe defaults a typo can't crash the server.
For players
- Salvation is new: land 3 arrow hits (configurable) to charge a beam, then left-click to fire it 32 block range, pierces up to 5 mobs, always crits, ignores invincibility frames, with its own particle trail and sound. Charge progress shows on your action bar.
- Soul Eater reworked: killing a mob now stores its soul on the bow itself (worth 10x that mob's attack damage), and your next crit arrow or melee releases it for bonus damage. Previously every arrow silently got a bonus based on the mob's max health, which wasn't balanced; now it works like it does on Hypixel.
- Left-clicking a mob you're aiming at now actually fires the bow. Before, a lot of left-clicks in combat just did nothing.
- Invincibility frames no longer eat arrows 2 and 3 of a volley a real DPS fix.
- Volleys fire instantly on the same tick you click, instead of a tick late.
- Damage is now consistent per volley (one roll, all 3 arrows hit the same) with one shoot sound instead of three overlapping ones.
- You can no longer shoot yourself.
- The bow only works in your main hand. Using it off-hand shows a (rate-limited) notice instead.
- Kills are now credited properly death messages and stats blame you instead of no one.
- No more needing survival mode or an empty arrow inventory vanilla bow drawing is simply disabled.
- If your inventory is full when receiving a bow, it now drops at your feet instead of vanishing.
Under the hood
- Each arrow carries its rolled damage in persistent data and reapplies it on impact, so vanilla damage handling can't alter it. Arrows are unpickable and removed on hit no more arrow carpets.
- Enderman hits are now based on direct hit + hurt cooldown, instead of hitting everything within 3 blocks of the arrow.
- Per-player state (clicks, cooldowns, Salvation charge) consolidated into one map and properly cleared on quit/disable/reload.
- Commands rebuilt on Paper's Brigadier API; tooltips use item data components.
- Default lore updated to current wiki enchants (Toxophilite X, Divine Gift III, Smoldering V, Wake Rune III).
- README rewritten for Paper with setup, permissions, and full config reference.

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
