Bug Fixes
-
Water no longer ignores temperature: Water in biomes now properly heats/cools the player. The water temperature effect was negligible (max ±1.0°C) — it now uses 70% influence based on the difference between water and air temperature, capped at ±8.0°C. Water conducts heat ~25x faster than air, so it should dominate when submerged.
-
Normalization enchantment rebalanced: A single armor piece with Normalization III no longer grants full temperature protection. The effective level is now calculated from all 4 armor slots combined:
- 1 piece at any level → no effect
- 2 pieces at level III → level I (35%)
- 3 pieces at level III → level II (75%)
- 4 pieces at level III → level III (100%)
- Hand/offhand items no longer count toward normalization.
-
No more freezing inside heat sources: Standing directly inside lava, fire, or other heat sources no longer causes the player to freeze. The block at the player's position (distance 0) was previously skipped entirely by the block effect scanner.
-
Day/night temperature cycle fixed: The warmest time of day was incorrectly set to ~8 PM instead of noon. The cosine curve is now centered at hour 6 (noon = warmest) instead of hour 14 (8 PM). Midnight is now the coldest point, matching real-world behavior.
-
Water entry messages fixed: The "water is warmer than air" message now compares water temperature to actual air/biome temperature instead of the player's body temperature.
Improvements
- Normalization enchantment no longer hides other enchantments: Removed the HIDE_ENCHANTS flag and fake Unbreaking I enchantment that was hiding real enchantments (Protection, Feather Falling, etc.) on armor. Normalization now only displays via lore.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
