Changes
1.2.0 — The golems have something to say
Golems now talk to themselves while they work, about whatever they're actually doing.
- They react to real moments: setting off with a load, finishing a delivery or harvest, a full drop-off, a broken route, getting stuck, a Collector skipping filtered produce, idling too long, and their owner walking up.
- Four personalities: Grumbler, Sunny, Bard and Deadpan, fixed for life by each golem's identity. Nothing to configure, nothing stored. "Done. Nobody clapped. Noted." · "Can I do that again? Please?" · "Chapter Six: There Was No Room." · "Boss. I've missed you a normal amount."
- Every line is yours to edit.
chatter.ymlships about 290 lines, keyed by moment, job and personality. Rewrite them or add your own. - Chatter stays occasional. Each golem has a cooldown and chance roll, gets bored slowly, won't talk over a reply, and speaks only when someone can read it. Tune it under
chatter:inconfig.yml:enabled: true,cooldown-seconds: 20,chance: 0.35,idle-every-seconds: 60. - Every bubble looks like a name tag now: white with a shadow, no dark panel, slightly larger. New keys:
feedback.speech-scale: 1.25,feedback.speech-background: false,feedback.speech-rise: 0.75.feedback.speech: falseturns it all off;feedback.intensity: offsilences chatter.
Upgrading:
chatter.ymlis created on first boot.messages.ymlis never overwritten, so replies stay gray until you delete or merge that file.- No migration: golems keep their jobs and routes.
- Still Java 21 bytecode. Tested live on Purpur 26.1.2, built against the Paper 26.2 API.
Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
