BrewBook
BrewBook is a lightweight potion recipe guide for Paper servers. Players can browse brewing ingredients and potion bases in an in-game menu without changing how vanilla brewing stands work.
Key Features
- Simple Recipe Guide: Browse potion recipes in an inventory GUI
- Ingredient Details: See each potion's ingredient and required base
- Potion Modifiers: Read about duration, potency, splash, and lingering variants
- Vanilla Brewing: Does not replace, intercept, or alter brewing stands
Functionality
Run /brewbook to open the recipe guide. Hover over a potion to see its brewing ingredient, base potion, and notes about available modifiers. Use the menu controls to change pages or close the guide.
The guide is informational only. Brewing continues to use the normal Minecraft brewing stand and its vanilla rules.
Safety & Performance
BrewBook only creates a menu when a player runs its command. It does not schedule repeating tasks, modify brewing stand inventories, or give players guide items.
Clicks and drags in the guide are blocked to prevent menu items from being moved into player inventories.
Commands & Permissions
/brewbook— Open the potion recipe guide
No permissions are required.
Compatibility
The plugin declares Paper 1.21 as its minimum API version and compiles against the Paper 1.21.1 API. It uses only API available in that baseline, so the same JAR is intended to run on later Paper releases, including 1.21.x, 26.1, 26.2, and 26.3.
Paper 1.21 servers require Java 21 or later. Paper 26.x requires Java 25 or later; use Java 25 to run Paper 26.x. The plugin's Java 21 bytecode runs on both.
