Mercedex Car Plugin

Bring drivable cars to your Minecraft server! Mercedex adds a luxury sedan and a boxy SUV with four seats, shared trunks, lava fuel, custom models, and continuous driving sounds.

Play with a vanilla Minecraft client—no client mods required.

Two Vehicles

• Mercedex Sora: A long luxury sedan with a two-tone exterior.
• Mercedex Garon: A blue SUV with a distinctive boxy design.

Both vehicles feature textured interiors, left-hand driving positions, and room for one driver and three passengers.

Ownership and Passenger Seats

• The player who places a vehicle becomes its owner.
• Only the owner can occupy the driver's seat and drive.
• Other players can use the three passenger seats, even before the owner gets in.
• Passengers cannot take the reserved driver's seat.
• The vehicle stops when its driver exits.
• Only the owner can pick up the vehicle by hitting it.
• Server operators can pick up any vehicle, but cannot drive another player's vehicle.

When a vehicle item is transferred and placed by another player, that player becomes its new owner.

Fuel and Storage

• Refuel vehicles using lava buckets through the trunk menu.
• Empty buckets are returned after refueling.
• Fuel is consumed while driving.
• Each vehicle has a shared 27-slot trunk.
• Fuel and trunk contents are preserved when the vehicle is picked up and placed again.
• Vehicle speed and fuel consumption are configurable.

Custom Models and Driving Audio

Both vehicles use custom resource-pack models and textures. Continuous driving audio follows the vehicle and stops when the driver leaves or the fuel runs out.

The resource pack is bundled inside the plugin and automatically sent to players. Accepting it is required to remain connected.

For a direct server connection, the pack is served through the existing Minecraft game port—no separate resource-pack port is needed. Proxy or custom network setups may require a configured public download URL.

To refuel, open the trunk and use its fuel control with a lava bucket, or Shift-click a lava bucket from your inventory while the trunk is open.

Survival Crafting

Both vehicles can be crafted at a crafting table. Crafting can also be disabled in the configuration.

New vehicles start without fuel.

Command alias: /car

English is the default language on first installation. Existing language settings are preserved during updates.

Permissions

• mercedex.admin — Administrative commands; granted to OPs by default.
• mercedex.sora — Access to the Sora spawn command.
• mercedex.garon — Access to the Garon spawn command.

Spawn-command permissions are not required for crafting vehicles.

Installation

1. Stop your server.
2. Place the plugin JAR in the plugins folder.
3. Start the server.
4. Join and accept the required resource pack.
5. Craft a vehicle or spawn one with a command, add fuel, and drive!

When updating, replace the old plugin JAR instead of keeping multiple versions installed. Keep your existing configuration and vehicle data.

Compatibility

• Requires Java 21.
• Built against the Spigot 1.21.4 API.
• Runtime tested on Paper 1.21.4 and 1.21.11.
• Check the selected release's supported Minecraft versions before installing.
