Trainer's Workshop
Stop praying to the RNG. Start crafting.
Some of Cobblemon's most useful items can only be obtained by pure luck: evolution items, held items, Rare Candy. Trainer's Workshop turns them into goals you can work toward, and gives vanilla exploration a reason to matter again. All of it with a balance that respects progression.
No extra mods. No setup. Just drop it in your world.
🔨 What you get
Craftable held items
Everstone, Oval Stone, Float Stone, Shed Shell, Quick Claw, Lucky Egg and Leftovers.
Craftable evolution items
Razor Claw, Razor Fang, Dragon Scale, Prism Scale, Deep Sea Tooth, Deep Sea Scale and Black Augurite. No more farming a single drop to evolve one Pokémon.
Progression items
Rare Candy and Ability Patch, priced to be a convenience, never a shortcut.
All recipes unlock automatically in your recipe book.
🗺️ Better loot, in three tiers
Cobblemon's own chest loot is extended, never replaced, across 16 vanilla structures:
Early game (villages, mineshafts, dungeons, igloos, shipwrecks): small candies, Poké Balls, potions Mid game (jungle temples, outposts, strongholds, mansions, Nether): stronger candies, Ultra Balls, basic held items Late game (Ancient City, bastion treasure, End Cities): XL candies, Max Revive, Ability Capsule, rare evolution items Nether chests can hold Black Augurite and dark-type evolution items Fishing treasure can reward Prism Scales, Deep Sea items and candies
Rare Candy, Ability Patch, Lucky Egg and Leftovers are craft-only by design.
⚖️ Balance philosophy
Powerful items cost real progression: candies, diamonds, netherite scrap. Works with Cobblemon's own cooking-pot candy recipes instead of replacing them. Late-game loot chances are low: a reason to explore, not a loot fountain. Every recipe is a plain JSON file, easy to tweak for your server.
✅ Compatibility
Minecraft 1.21.1 + Cobblemon 1.8.x (Fabric / NeoForge) Put the zip in saves/<world>/datapacks Overrides Cobblemon's chest-injection loot tables, so it may conflict with other datapacks that edit the same files Safe to add to existing worlds, server friendly
❓ FAQ
Does it need another mod? No, only Cobblemon. Can I change the recipes? Yes, edit the JSON files in data/trainers_workshop/recipe. Will it break my progression? It was balanced around Cobblemon's own candy values; strong items are intentionally expensive.
